Prerequisites and exam information
To take the exam, you must meet the following prerequisites:
- a minimum of secondary education, and
- 23 hours of structured project management training, fully certified by participation in our training programme.
Do you have at least 3 years of experience? If so, we recommend the PMP qualification.
The CAPM exam consists of 150 questions (test, pairing, multiple choice) and takes 3 hours to complete. The exam can be taken at several locations each week, and from 2018 you can also take the exam at home using a webcam and microphone. The test questions typically test lexical knowledge, with a level of difficulty matching the notoriously difficult PMI exams.

Training information
Our CAPM exam preparation programme consists of 2.5 days of classroom/online training, 3 hours of exam simulation and 3 hours of assessment. The 3-hour exam simulation includes questions similar to the real exam and can be completed at home.
As the most important measure for us is our pass rate, we offer free consultation after the programme to help participants on request.
For online courses, an internet connection is required, a microphone and webcam are recommended, and handouts and supporting materials will be provided in digital format.

What is PMI in project management?
PMI stands for Project Management Institute, the world organisation for project management, which awards project management-related qualifications to project managers who pass their exams.
What is CAPM short for?
CAPM is an acronym for Certified Associate in Project Management, a certification of the Project Management Institute, or PMI.
Who is CAPM certification recommended for?
The CAPM qualification is recommended for those who do not yet have enough relevant project experience (3 years for college/university graduates) to obtain a PMP qualification, but would like to demonstrate their expertise with an internationally recognised, prestigious qualification. The CAPM qualification is ideal for early career project assistants, project coordinators, junior project managers or even career changers, but can also benefit professionals working in any industry, who wants to systematise basic project management skills.
What are the prerequisites for taking the CAPM exam?
The CAPM exam requires at least 23 hours of structured project management training and a minimum of secondary education (A-levels). Relevant project experience is not required to obtain the qualification.
How can the prerequisites be verified when applying for CAPM?
Proof of completion of the training prerequisite can be provided by a diploma or certificate of attendance. The PMI may audit candidates on a random basis.
What training meets the prerequisites?
Any project management training of at least 23 hours is suitable, but due to the difficulty and content of the exam, targeted training is recommended. CAPM exam preparation training take part in.
What is ATP?
ATP stands for Authorized Training Partner, which is the PMI certified training partner status. In Hungary, for example, ProMan Consulting Ltd. has this status, which guarantees that PMI exam preparation training is delivered by qualified ATP Instructors to a high standard of quality and in accordance with the latest exam requirements and professional content.
How much does the CAPM exam cost?
The fee for the CAPM exam is USD 300 (USD 225 for PMI membership). The annual PMI membership fee is USD 164. The exam fee is paid directly to PMI.
In which language can I take the CAPM exam?
English is the language of the CAPM exam in all cases, but the PMI will provide auxiliary language support in several languages if necessary. Hungarian is not included in the list of available languages.
How long is the CAPM exam?
The CAPM exam lasts 180 minutes, during which you have to answer 150 multiple-choice questions. A short break may be taken during the exam.
How can I take the CAPM exam?
The CAPM exam can be taken online (proctored) or live at Pearson Vue exam centres. You can apply for the exam independently.
Are there breaks in the exam?
Yes, the CAPM exam includes a 10-minute break after the 75th test question (the break does not count towards the 180-minute time limit). After the break, the candidate no longer has access to the questions answered before the break.
How long is the CAPM certification valid ?
The CAPM qualification is valid for 3 years, after which it can be renewed by collecting a PDU (Professional Development Unit). For CAPM this means 15 hours in 3-year cycles.
How many times can the test be attempted?
You can sit the exam within 1 year of the date of application approval. After a possible first failed exam, there is the possibility to take 2 additional exams at an extra fee. After 3 unsuccessful exams, you have to wait 1 year before the next attempt. The date of the exam fixed at the time of application may be changed depending on the date at an additional fee.
I have completed the CAPM exam preparation training, how long do I have to take the exam?
There is no deadline for completing the exam preparation training. Approval to sit the exam is the date from which you have 1 year to obtain the qualification.
