There are no prerequisites for taking the exam; it is suitable even for complete beginners who are just getting acquainted with the topic.

EXAM INFORMATION

The PRINCE2 Foundation exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions and you have 60 minutes to complete the test. You need 33 correct answers to pass. The test questions are mainly knowledge-based, covering the framework’s structure, tools, and core elements - especially PRINCE2 principles, themes, and processes.

The examination assesses the following competencies:

  • Do you understanding of the structure, focus areas and terminology of PRINCE2?
  • Can you recognize the place and role of individual principles, topics and processes in project management?

  • Can you distinguish between the key concepts of the methodology and understand their logical connections?

The exam can be taken online using your own device. It is important to note that, unlike other PeopleCert exams, PRINCE2 Foundation not ”open book” meaning no reference materials or aids are allowed.

As part of our training, you will receive the official course material compiled by PeopleCert as well as the book.

A process-based project management methodology based on clear roles, control points and management principles.

It is important to note that neither approach is better or worse than the other; they simply apply different perspectives.

In the PMI (Project Management Institute) certifications provide a framework that primarily offers techniques, tools and methodological models, leaving project professionals considerable freedom in selecting the appropriate tools. Project professionals must decide on the structure of processes, the order in which methods are applied and the level of tool usage.

In contrast, the PRINCE2 provides a structured management model with well-defined steps, roles, control points and document logic. The key difference is that PMI defines frameworks and tools, while PRINCE2 is a ready-to-use project management system.

For novice and experienced project managers, PMO professionals, team members, managers, and anyone who wants to understand and apply the basic logic of PRINCE2.

The Foundation focuses on understanding the theory, while the Practitioner focuses on the practical application of the method.

There are no prerequisites for the exam, so both complete beginners and those already familiar with the subject can feel free to take it.

The exam is primarily available in English, and the official handbook and teaching materials are also in English.

However, in addition to English, the exam can be taken in 11 other world languages. Unfortunately, it is not possible to take the exam in Hungarian.

You have 60 minutes (1 hour) to complete the exam.

The exam time limit is constantly ticking away, and there are no breaks during the exam.

There are 60 questions, which are multiple-choice tasks.

At least 55% must be answered correctly, which means 33 correct answers out of 60 questions.

The Foundation Exam not open book, Therefore, the PRINCE2 Guide cannot be used during the Foundation exam.

Pricing depends on the service provider. With us, you can take the online exam for HUF 160,000 + VAT. The exam fee is part of the training programme fee.

After passing the exam, the qualification has no expiry date.

Renewal is not necessary; the qualification does not expire after passing the examination.

Of course, preparation is largely individual, but it is worth setting aside at least 2-3 weeks for focused practice and preparation.

There is no limit on the number of attempts; if unsuccessful, you may re-register.
